Abstract:

PA Consulting’s energy market analytics group does work across the electricity space, and this talk will focus on three projects around battery storage, DC transmission to deliver renewable power to a dense load area, and incorporating marginal losses into ERCOT’s market dispatch algorithm. Trevor will speak about the analysis, challenges, conclusions, and other unique aspects about each of the projects.

Biography:

 

SEAS alumnus Trevor McManamon is a Principal Consultant in PA's Global Energy & Utilities practice based in the Denver, Colorado office. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Boston University and a Masters of Engineering in Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan in addition to his M.S. from SEAS. He has five years of experience in energy market research, data analytics and project development, with a focus on renewable energy, capacity markets, and strategic transaction support. He leads up PA’s capacity market modelling team and tracks capacity market developments around the world. Prior to his time at PA, Trevor worked in the solar industry for a mounting system manufacturer as well as a solar thermal startup.
