An academic researcher who studies energy systems at the University of Michigan said it would behoove the state to plan for the effects of climate change on the power grid.
Assistant professor Michael Craig spoke about better planning electric power systems for climate change during a recent technical conference hosted by the Michigan Public Service Commission. He researches how to reduce global and local environmental impacts from energy systems while making those systems robust to future climate impacts.
