Analysis & Market Planning for Distributed Hydrogen Energy Stations
-
Research Team
The Department of Energy and DTE Energy opened the Hydrogen Technology Park, a first-of-a-kind facility that produces hydrogen and fuel cell electricity, all located in a residential neighborhood in Southfield, Michigan. Will the Park be a model for the "hydrogen economy"? Our study looked at:
- What are the economic and environmental costs of hydrogen and fuel cells?
- will the Park be competitive in markets for distributed generation, energy storage, or the merchant hydrogen?
- Is the Park feasible for a hydrogen highway system?
