MASTER'S PROJECT: Managing End-of-Life Risk for Solar PV: A systems approach to circularity in the United States
This project will provide quantitative and qualitative data to inform a circular economy for storage batteries (BES) and solar photovoltaics (PV) in the global energy transition to a net zero future. Research will include a global perspective for both developed and developing countries, but some research tasks will be U.S. centric. The project aims to 1) understand key drivers (e.g., benefits and future opportunities) to a circular economy for both industries; 2) identify current circular strategies and pathways that have emerged for each industry and provide contemporary examples; 3) understand current challenges and barriers to a circular economy for each industry; 4) catalog policies aimed at enabling a circular economy for both industries.
