AHRI & ACEEE Fifth Energy Efficiency Summit
ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute
(AHRI) and American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) jointly
hosted the fifth Energy Efficiency Summit. The summit provides an open
discussion forum for HVACR and water heater manufacturers, environmental
advocates, and utility representatives.
According to AHRI, this summit
covered a wide variety of topics, including the future of energy efficiency
standards, the development of residential and commercial building codes,
incentives for residential equipment, and efficiency standards for commercial
HVACR and water heater equipment.
AHRI said the summit featured a number
of open discussions which led to the development of three working groups: one
dedicated to energy savings through incentives, specifically targeting the
residential installed base; the second dedicated to solving issues faced in the
development of building codes; and the third dedicated to more effective
labeling of equipment.
