To quantify changes in lifetime fuel consumption, life cycle energy, life cycle GHG emissions, and development, production, and operational costs for an Army vehicle due to several lightweighting strategies. This modeling and analysis effort represents a difference assessment between each lightweight alternative and the base case scenario in terms of fuel, energy, emissions, and costs. This analysis includes materials, fuels, and costs associated with peacetime training activities. Overall, our assessment for each lightweight scenario captures all relevant activities ranging from vehicle development to retirement.
