MASTER'S PROJECT: Dynamic Pricing Tariffs for DTE's Residential Electricity Customers
Detroit Edison, a subsidiary of DTE Energy, considered introducing residential dynamic pricing rates, rather than the customary flat retail rate for residential customers, to incent customers to shift load away from peak periods, at which time wholesale electricity prices are high.
The two main goals of this project are:
1) Estimate the financial and environmental impacts of implementing dynamic electricity pricing rates for residential customers.
2) Based on these estimates, recommend to DTE specific dynamic pricing programs to pilot.
